The purpose of this workshop is to ensure all managers and HR understand what harassment entails as well as what procedures to follow when claims of harassment arise. The Code of Good Practice on the Prevention and Elimination of Harassment in the Workplace (as provided for in the Employment Equity Act, 1998) aims to eliminate all forms of harassment in the workplace by guiding the policies and procedures to be implemented if harassment occurs. The scope and ambit of the Code is broad, and both Employers and Employees need to understand the nature and application of the Code in the workplace. Furthermore, the Code requires Employers to educate staff on harassment in the workplace and what procedures to follow.
